Ole Hanson Had A Vision – California Culture

San Clemente, California – In 1924, Entrepreneur and former Mayor of Seattle Ole Hanson had a a vision to erect a thriving, coastal resort town.  A reprieve from urban life, it needed pleasant climates and beautiful beaches – all year round.  A year later, Hanson found that perfect spot on a sleepy stretch of southern California real estate.  Located midway between the towns of San Diego and Los Angeles with its namesake – the southernmost of the eight Channel Islands – he christened it San Clemente.

The first order of business was building the family’s home for his wife and 12 children.

Consider the eminent Jane Goodall, a primatologist, who pioneered the study of primates in the wilds of Africa to broaden our understanding of man’s own kinship.  A reigning luminary in her field who puts her celebrity to good uses, spreading a message of global renewal.
